I used to think that "Fake it till you make it" was just a silly saying. It's not, though. When starting a new job, you often get thrown in without a lot of training. You can't let anyone else see that you're unprepared for what it holds, so you put on a brave face and do the work while trying to figure it out at the same time. As far as people on the outside know, you're doing great.
Eventually, you will "make it" with the facade you put on. Both you and others will believe it!
