I've see Star Wars with a live orchestra. There's a touring group that play's along to the movie and they're next stops are playing along to The Empire Strikes Back. There's a similar one for Lord of The Rings. There's a Final Fantasy 7 one on tour right now through North America as well as one for Avatar: The Last Airbender.

The symphony orchestra in my city in Canada does "movie nights" where they only play themes from chosen films. There's a Disney one coming up soon. Further out is another LOTR ones, Hans Zimmer nights, and even a few Anime nights. These ones would be without the movies playing like the above examples.
