I've used it to get writing prompts and for templates for a past job that had unfamiliar tasks. It can be useful, but it should be used it as a tool, not something that completely replaces real writing.

I wouldn't worry about using clichés in your writing. Including those doesn't mean that the story will be flagged. It usually takes 2-3 of these together, especially the format mixed with common clichés, for editors to confirm.
