Hobbyists have the right idea. They hone their craft whether that is painting Warhammer figurines, knitting, building models, playing an instrument, or whatever floats their boat. They all have a few things in common, no matter what activity they’ve decided to focus on. Their patient, willing to learn, and willing to share their craft with others.

You can adapt those traits and implement them in your writing habits. If you already have a hobby, you may already be implementing those habits even without realizing!

Patience is a Virtue

Many hobbies take time and patience to finish a task such as painting Warhammer figures. Which can take days at a time to finish. There’s numerous steps involved in the process and layers can take time to dry between coats of paint. It can be tedious and time consuming but the finished products are worth the effort.

Writing may take time to get correct. Don’t let it get to you if you feel that what you are working on takes a while to finish. Planning can help, but be patient with yourself and your work.
